Using and loving: Toni & Guy Cleanse Dry Shampoo and Cedel Dry Conditioner

Winter can get screwed. Seriously. I hate the cold, the wet, and the wind, especially when all three strike at once. And there is nothing worse than having to haul ass out of bed on a cold morning and wash your hair. Nothing worse.

It’s for this reason that I have been doing cold morning maths, which is along the lines of ‘can I go another day before I need to wash my hair? If I wash it today, I’ll need to wash it again on Wednesday, but I have an early start that day, so if I put it off today I can do it tomorrow…how many days is too many with dry shampoo?’ The beauty of working from home, as I do, is that I can do this cold morning maths and not feel guilty if I have greasy hair for a day because no one will see me. But for those of you with “real jobs” who have to face people daily, I have two products you need.

I’m not going to bang on about dry shampoo because you have heard this song as often as you have heard that damn Call Me Maybe song (read: excessively). I spied the new Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe range in my local Coles and, recalling that Justine the editor of Shop Til You Drop mentioned recently that she liked the dry shampoo, I bought some. I’m a sucker like that. It really is a good dry shampoo though. It isn’t powdery like pretty much every other dry shampoo on the market – it’s a very fine mist so you don’t get a cakey scalp.

Something newish to add to this party though is dry conditioner. Yes. Dry conditioner. I know I’m not the only one with oily roots and dry ends after avoiding a hair wash for a couple of days. Ends seem to get particularly dry in this stupid weather, and all the blasting from the blow dryer doesn’t help either. When this dry conditioner from Cedel landed on my desk I thought it was a gimmick until I tried it. It’s fantastic. Comes out of the can like mousse, so it’s easy to rub through the ends, and the vitamin E adds a quick moisture boost as well as taming frizz.

Tomorrow morning use your dry shampoo on the roots, dry conditioner on the end, and get an extra 20 minutes in your nice warm bed. Thank me later.
