I’ll be honest, it’s not often I finish a beauty product. I have serious beauty ADD, and before I get halfway through one bottle I’m already on to the next thing.
But occasionally…occasionally…I find a product that I love so much I cut the tube open to scratch out the last remaining drops. Last week I finished three new finds and I’m off to replace them all.
The first is Franc Essential Body Glow body scrub. I’m obsessed with fresh minty body scrubs, and this ticks all my boxes (and I know that sounds sexual…don’t imagine me in the shower please). For a very long time I only used Clinique Sparkle Skin, but the last time I went to buy it overseas they didn’t have any in stock, and I refuse to buy Clinique in Australia because it’s three time the price. Sorry……rage. But I digress. Franc Essential Body Glow is one of those body scrubs that you sit down in the shower to use, and you take your sweet-ass time doing so. The walnut shell means that you get a really thorough scrub, but the sweet almond and macadamia oils means your skin is left soft and hydrated. And the peppermint oil…drool. Every body scrub should contain peppermint so you get that zingy, fresh feeling.
The next is Antipodes Apostle Skin-Brightening & Tone-Correcting Serum. I didn’t take many products with me when I went to New York for three weeks, but this baby had pride of place in my toiletries case, along with my new YSL day cream which I’ll tell you about soon. This beautiful serum ticks the holy trinity of skincare: targets pigmentation, brightens skin and restores even tone. After just a couple of weeks of use my skin looked amazing – it faded some of my mild pigmentation, and my skin was bright and healthy. I have always been a huge Antipodes fan, and this goes straight to the top of my list because of the Vinanza Performance Plus ingredient – it’s an anti-aging compound that combines grape seeds and kiwi seeds. Those clever kiwis.
The last thing I’m currently finishing off is the St Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Lotion which I wrote about back in March. You know what really gets my goat? When there’s at least two weeks of lotion left in the bottle and you can’t get it up the pump so you have to go all ghetto and scoop it out using the tube. Attention St. Ives (and every other company that does pump bottle moisturiser): fix this.
Franc Essential Body Glow – $34.95 for 250mL – Franc Essential website
Apostle Skin-Brightening & Tone-Correcting Serum – $59 for 30mL- Myer and David Jones
St. Ives Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter body lotion – $8.99 for 621mL – Priceline
Disclosure: Yes, these were offered to Stuff That I Bought for consideration. Yes, all opinions are my own. Yes, I am re-buying all three of these products because they’re pretty great. Apart from that whole ‘can’t get the moisturiser out of the bottom of the bottle’ thing.
