DIY: nude nails with neon tips

I love this look so much. Obsessed, actually. Nude nails with a lick of fluoro colour on the tips.
This isn’t like a regular french manicure – if we wanted fat tips we could just use the old sticky tape trick. No, this is about a really fine, clean line right along the tip. Chic. Just a flash of neon on an otherwise nude nail.
For the nude base I usually use OPI Samoan Sand. I tend to only do one coat so it looks really natural, but you might need two depending on the condition of your nails. To get the razor sharp line, I put a blob of polish on a notepad and then dip a cotton tip in it. Run the cotton tip slowly and carefully along the edge of the nail. Done. I tried doing it freehand and also using the tip of a bobby pin, but this was by far the best way to get a straight line. Try it and let me know what you think!
The fluoro yellow is Illamasqua – Rare. It is an insanely bright highlighter yellow, but I can’t get a decent photo of it. Fun fact: anything that glows under a black light is impossible to photograph without some major equipment and photoshop skillz. I have neither, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. Or come and hang out with me so I can show you in person. Another fun fact: I wore my new fluorescent Sabo Skirt skirt to a party last night and was glowing under the black light. All I needed was the dummy and fluffy leg warmers and I was ready for a rave.
