It’s been a while since I did a This Week I… and rather than giving you a laundry list, I thought I would give you a glimpse into my life via the wonderful filters of Instagram. If you’re not following me, you can find me at stuffthatibought. No pressure though – I find that instagram is a really personal form of social media and I’m quite picky about who I follow, and you should be too. Some of my favourite people on instagram are fatmumslim and tabletonic for the artistic shots, samanthawills and evachen212 for the NYC moments, corridorkitchen for food porn, and andrewgunsberg because he is an amazing photographer.
I’ve been a bit DIY recently (good weather for it) with the DIY fluoro necklace on the left and some dinner party invites on the right. I could have just emailed the details to the guests but when I rock a theme, I go all out!
Passionfruit must be in season, because I have had two amazing passionfruit desserts at recent functions. The left is the passionfruit mousse that I enjoyed at the Nivea Sensitive Protect Deodorant launch lunch (great deodorant, FYI). The right is passionfruit marscapone with mandarin, a dark chocolate curl, and a single macadamia nut, and it was one of the many desserts on offer at The Grace Hotel Flavours of Hawaii buffet. Do yourself a favour and check out the Flavours of Hawaii buffet at the Grace Brasserie – it’s on until June 30 and the food is amazing!
Even though I bought these shoes 2 weeks ago, I only got to take them out on their maiden voyage on Thursday because rain and ponyskin don’t mix (even with excessive amounts of waterproofer). PS I bought these shoes 2 weeks ago and now they’re on sale for $40 less than I paid. I hate when that happens. On the right is the teeny tiny hand of my newest love Emily Louise, my best friends 3 week old little girl. She is the most wonderful little creature, and I’m one of those crazy aunties that likes to sniff her head and shove a camera in her face at every opportunity.
I posted a picture of my nail polish collection on The Nail File Facebook page and it went off like a frog on a rock. The pic on the left is a cropped version of the bigger picture, and the right is an order I sent out this week from The Nail File Shop.
The weather in Sydney has been miserable this week, as you can see from the picture on the left. The one on the right (with no filter) is a rare snap of blue sky and sunshine, before the clouds rolled in again. I need summer so bad!
The little things make me smile, like a bunch of fresh baby roses on my bedside table, or crisp new Kate Spade stationery.
What did you get up to this week?
By the way…I *finally* got around to creating a Facebook page for StuffThatIBought (or, rather, Helen from Sassybella.com created it for me). Considering that I run Facebook pages for a living it seemed like a no brainer, but it was forever being bumped off the to-do list by other stuff. Do drop by, it would be lovely to see you x
