Last week I got to have a play with some of the cool new stuff Estee Lauder and Tom Ford are bringing out over the coming months, and can I just say…wow. They have an incredible eye cream and face cream set that you will need to mortgage the house for (if you want the face cream, we’re talking a 4-digit price tag!), as well as some of the most exquisite gradient blushes I have ever laid eyes on. The colours, the packaging…swoon-worthy. These guys know how to do luxe.
I got to take some things home with me, and since then I have been putting a few of the key products through their paces. It’s hard to give you a comprehensive review after just a week of use, but here are a few products you need to keep your eyes peeled for:
Matte Perfecting Primer
This baby isn’t due on counter until April 1, but it’s worth psyching up for now. I use a primer every single day, but I sometimes worry that the combination of illuminating primer plus illuminator is going to leave me somewhat disco ball-y (and as if I’m gonna skip the illuminator!) This matte primer is perfect for daytime and it’s also perfect for people with combination and oily skin. In fact, Tom Pecheux, the Creative Director, designed it for that very reason. $48 for 30ml, well worth it. Update: The launch date for this has been pushed back to April 22 – just be patient, babes!
Tom Ford Cheek Colour in Love Lust
As soon as I saw this at the showing I said to Helen that it reminded me of Nars Super Orgasm. It’s a beautiful coral with gold shimmer flecks through it, and a hint of pink. Kind of glad I’m rocking the matte primer, because this has a lot of illumination in it. It’s highly pigmented and smooth as silk – Tom Ford is exxy but oh so worth it. $85
Cyber Eyes EyeShadow in Cyber Silver
I haven’t used this yet because I can’t bare to mess up the beautiful imprint on the powder, but how amazing is it?! This is part of the Limited Edition Cyber Eyes collection that was inspired by the rich powdery colours and bold eyes of India, and there are six colours. It’s a new formula that’s a hybrid liquid, powder and gel that creates an insane molten metal effect. This is one of those eye shadows that I’ll probably just look at longingly every morning and then use one of my manky old eyeshadows because something this lovely doesn’t deserve to be spoilt. $50
Re-Nutriv Re-Creation Eye Balm & Night Serum For Eyes
You’ll have to sit tight on a review of this baby, but trust me…oh my goodness…
